Half Term Rocks

A Norfolk Social Enterprise is giving young music makers opportunities to  brush up their band skills at a Rock School this half term.
Community Music East’s (CME) Rock School is for 12 to 16 year olds who are learning guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or voice, to make music with other young musicians, develop song writing skills and pick up performance tips.
Rockestra is a band skills workshop for seven to 12 year olds interested in playing instruments, making songs and performing.
Clara Gauntlett from CME said: “Our half term Rock Schools are always popular, and there are just a few places left on each workshop. They are great for boosting confidence and meeting like-minded people, as well as gaining new skills.”
The workshops are part funded by Youth Music, which aims to improve young people’s lives through music.
Rockestra is on Tuesday 1 June 10am – 1pm, priced £10 (£5 concessions) at CME, 189 King Street, Norwich. Rock School is on Thursday 3 June 10.30am – 4.30pm, priced £25 (£15 concessions) at Access to Music, King Street, Norwich. Places should be booked in advance on 01603 628367 or www.cme.org.uk
